RIDICULOUS KMC RATE COLLLECTOR EMPTYING VENDORS SELLERS COFFERS IN THE KANIFING MUNICIPALITY

A kmc rate collector has sparked outrage in kanifing Municipal Council after he was caught emptying the coffers of the street vendors alone the kairaba Avenue main highways.

Lamin camara 34^th was caught read handed by a female vendor relate seller who preferred to remain anonymous alone the kairaba Avenue.

According to the female vendor who said Mr. Camara use to engaged in a cruel act of scamming people by forcing them to pay an amount of D500 on it each shop without him given them a recite in return.

The victim said Mr. Camara used to appear before them in their various shops and canteens and asked them to a pay a tax of D500 in which at the end he wouldn’t give any recite in return.

According to Halimatou Jallow who is running a shop  near St, Therese’s upper Basic School, Halimatou said she had pay Mr. Camara on two occasion without receiving a recite from him.

Jainaba Ceesay on the other hand said Mr. Camara do even threaten to close them down if they insist not to pay, saying “because they did not have permit” from the kmc to be operating on the main highways. “Since we are left with no options we just sacrifice to pay the D500 that he does request”. 

Mariama Jah another vendor and eyewitness said she was patently waiting to buy a snack from one of the numerous street vendors around the St, Therese’s Upper Basic School after School breaking time the incident unraveled, where she saw Mr. Lamin Camara emptying the wallet of the female vendor in an early morning rate collection of his.

Pend Khan however said in her part she is not receiving any problem from Mr. Camara because she is running a big restaurant and anytime she paid her duty she do asked for a recite in return.

This cruel from Mr. Lamin Camrara has sparked a hinted debate within the vendor’s sellers, they are however crying foul and calling the act as uncalled for and asked the kmc interim Chairman to act in the soonest.
