National Assembly member for Wuli West has encouraged
people to take precautionary measures amid COVID-19, advising that there should
be no hiding behind God to prevent them from self-protection.
Jatta was making his contribution to the report of the
National Assembly Select Committee on Health, Women, Children, Disaster,
Humanitarian Relief and Refugees on their inspection visits to official
international entry points, holding and isolation centers on the state of
preparedness for the COVID-19 and the minister for health statement on the
pandemic.
“We shouldn’t also hide behind God and say, we should not
do anything to protect ourselves from the COVID-19,” said the veteran
politician cum linguist.
The chairman of the People’s Democratic Organisation for
Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) further advised that human intelligence must
never be underestimated, noting, “there is nothing we cannot overcome with our
intelligence and we must believe.”
