Any Leader Who Does Not Want To Work With A Person Who Is An Embodiment Of Knowledge, Professionalism And Character Is Not A Serious Leader - Hon Halifa Sallah
By Ousman A. Marong
The National Assembly member for Serekunda, Honourable Halifa Sallah, said any leader who does not want to work with a person who is an embodiment of knowledge, professionalism and character is not serious.
Sallah, who doubles as the Secretary-General and the leader of the opposition Peoples` Democratic Organization for Independence (PDIOS) stated this on Thursday 7th, 2022 while addressing a press conference at the party's headquarters in Churchill's town on recent mission to France and the comments by the President on his claimed retirement for honourable Sidia Jatta, member for Wuli West.
"I was very surprised when I heard the president indicating loudly and clearly that they will make honourable Sidia Jatta, retire. When I looked at the United States, Us, congress you look at the people who are there. Who is the president of the United State? Our president goes to ECOWAS who is the current president of ECOWAS. The same president appoints someone who is about 50th to be deputy speaker, and some are serving as ministers in his government who are above the ages of 60th going to 70th. I was surprised that the president focused on ages. That is why I made this statement that I am convinced that no nation cannot develop, no national assembly cannot be fit for purpose unless there is an embodiment of people with knowledge, professionalism, and character. Sidia Jatta, is an embodiment of character, is an embodiment of professionalism, so how could the president say he did not want that person in the parliament," asked the honourable member for Serekunda.
